Carte Blanche Making A Difference Campaign

The Carte Blanche Making A Difference Campaign continued its groundbreaking work in Soweto on Tuesday, 2 February at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital™ Trauma Unit when it handed over a Lodox Scanner worth R4-million to the facility. The scanner, which is able to perform a full-body scan of a patient in 13 seconds, was sponsored by the IDC and will be invaluable in the assessment of trauma patients, 11 000 of which pass through the
unit each month.

Gauteng Health and Social development MEC, Qedani Mahlangu, joined Carte Blanche Executive Producer, George Mazarakis; IDC CEO, Geoffrey Qhena, and Pieter de Beer and Carlos Sousa from Lodox to hand the South African-invented scanner to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital CEO, Mrs More and Chairman of the Board, Dr Nkosi.

The MEC praised the Carte Blanche Making A Difference Campaign for its good work in improving healthcare standards in South African hospitals and emphasized the importance of access to healthcare for all South Africans.

The Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital is the largest hospital in the southern hemisphere and serves a population of over 3-million residents in Soweto.
